Personal care

Everyday tasks can become harder with age, after an illness, or while living with a disability. Personal care gives a steady, respectful hand with the routines that keep a day running smoothly.

How personal care helps

Our caregivers help with the personal tasks that matter most to comfort and dignity: getting washed and dressed, grooming, moving safely around the home, and preparing simple meals. We follow your loved one’s preferences and pace, not a rushed checklist.

Personal care can also give family members room to breathe. Whether you live nearby or coordinate care from a distance, a dependable caregiver can cover the hours when you can’t be there, so you can visit as a son, daughter or spouse rather than only as a helper.

Before care starts, we talk through daily routines, the times of day that are hardest, and what a good day looks like. That conversation shapes the schedule and the support your caregiver provides.

What personal care can include

  • Bathing, showering and personal hygiene
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Help moving around the home, transfers and walking
  • Toileting and hygiene support
  • Meal preparation and help at mealtimes
  • Light housekeeping and laundry linked to personal care
  • Reminders and companionship through the day

Every plan is different. We’ll talk through exactly what support is right before care begins.

Personal care may be a good fit if

  • Daily routines have started to take longer or feel less safe
  • A family member needs support while they work or rest
  • Someone wants to stay in their own home for as long as possible
